Serigraph
Prints
Serigraph is
a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink blocking
stencil. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer
ink as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A roller or squeegee is
moved across the screen stencil forcing or pumping ink past the threads
of the woven mesh in the open areas. Using multiple screens for color
the image can be built up to closely resemble the original image.
Linocut Prints
Linocut prints are limited
edition hand pulled print. They are created by carving a relief into
linoleum then applying ink to the surface, next paper is placed over
the ink and pressure is applied by rubbing the paper with a baren which
transfers the ink to the page. To add color multiple sheets of linoleum
can be carved and transferred to the page or a reduction method can
be employed: cutting and printing each color from one block until only
the last color remains.
